The basic idea is that the high quality fats, like omega-3’s and vitamin-K from grass fed butter mixed with the antioxidants of good coffee makes for energy that sticks with you for the whole day. The new awakening of the need for healthy fats like omega-3 fatty acids in our diets mixed with the curiosity of a fairly new 3rd wave of coffee culture in America has created this bio-hacking trend of putting butter in your coffee and blending it into a gross frothy concoction. I’d say the only people who really love drinking their morning coffee in this manner are people who go and run 20 miles before any of the rest of us are even out of bed.
So that being said, I tried it, and even went for a nice little jog afterwards. And about half an hour later, I was starving. I’ll stick with my whole wheat toast with butter and black coffee from now on. The thing is, I really love the taste of my morning coffee, and I don’t like to mess with that too often. Unless, I’m making a delicious latte at the Loose Caboose.
